It
is a pleasant drive inland through fields
of wheat
and sunflowers
and woodland edged with
wild lilac,
to Dobrich. The region’s largest town
is well worth
a visit, for its lively atmosphere, art deco cafes, street markets and
old artisans quarter. Once Bulgaria’s most Muslim town, you get a glimpse
of its character in the streets of old Dobrich. Here you will find workshops
of contemporary craftsmen; and a traditional inn with courtyard restaurant
and street cafe.
You’ll find
the Etnographic Museum in a grand 19 century house which stands beside
the church
in the pleasant central square in the main street.
