Whatever time you visit you will probably come across a local event or festival.

Every year, in August, the Black Sea Festival includes concerts, exhibitions and activities in all the communities along the coast. Each September there’s an agricultural fair in Dobrich. At Krapetz the village fair is on 24th May which is also the Day of Bulgarian Literature and Alphabet.
 

Regional folk festivals include:

• the International Children Festival

in Kroushari in May
• "Spring Songs and Dances from Sunny Dobroudja” in Debrene in June
• the village of Dabovik’s summer festival in July
• “Dobroudja Folklore” in September in Tervel

Local saints day celebrations are held in:

• Shabla – 10 February (St. Haralampius day)
• Kavarna (St. George’s day – 6th May)
• Bulgarevo and Dourankoulak (St. Arch.

Michael Day – 8th November)
• Kamen Briag, Rakovski, Shabla and

Vranino – a forthnight after 21 May –
St. Constantine and St. Hellen Day
• Sveti Nikola – on 1st May
